Save the card on your phone. Feel free to add your own reference photo and say what you don’t want too. That gives your barber something concrete to work with.
Hair thickness, growth direction, curl and current length all affect a haircut. Discuss what is possible now and which look you could work towards in stages.
Low, mid and high describe where the blend sits. Skin describes how short the bottom section is. You can choose a low blend down to the skin, or a higher one that still leaves some short hair visible.
Texture is about movement and how the hair is distributed. A cut falls differently on straight hair than on waves or curls. Use a photo to show the direction and let your barber adapt it to your natural hair.
A haircut with lots of volume or a set direction may need more styling. Be honest about how much time you want to spend on it. The right routine is part of the right cut.
